Privacy policy
1. Who we are
This website, myip.bg, is operated by Office Shop BG EOOD, company ID (EIK) 202209381, registered address Sofia, Ovcha Kupel district, bl. 40, ent. B, fl. 8, ap. 24, Bulgaria, Bulgaria. We are the data controller within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act. Contact for data protection matters: office@officeshop.bg.
2. What the service does
The site shows you the public IP address your device uses to reach the internet, together with technical details that your browser already sends with every request (browser type, language, HTTP headers) and public information derived from the IP address (provider, approximate region). All of this is shown only to you, in your own browser session.
3. What data we process and why
- Your IP address and the HTTP headers of your request. We need them to display them to you; this is the sole purpose of the service. Legal basis: performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Derived information (country, region, city, provider, network) is calculated on our server from an offline database (MaxMind GeoLite2) and from public routing records. Your IP address is not sent to MaxMind or to any other third party for this purpose.
- Browser-side information (screen size, time zone, languages) is read by a script running in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
4. We do not store your IP address
The page is generated and immediately forgotten. We keep no database of visitors. Our web server writes standard access logs for security and troubleshooting, but the IP address in those logs is anonymised before it is written (the last octet of IPv4 addresses and the last 80 bits of IPv6 addresses are removed). Anonymised logs are deleted after 14 days.
5. Cookies and tracking
We do not set cookies, do not use analytics services, advertising networks, social media buttons or any third-party scripts. The advertisement for OfficeShop.bg on the page is a plain link placed by us; it loads nothing from other servers and does not track you. Because no non-essential cookies are used, no consent banner is required under Art. 4a of the Bulgarian Electronic Communications Act.
6. Tools: speed test, port check, WebRTC
The speed test transfers random data between your browser and our server; the uploaded data is counted and discarded immediately. The port check connects from our server to the port you choose on your own IP address only and stores nothing. The WebRTC check runs only when you click it and makes your browser contact a public STUN server operated by Google (stun.l.google.com), which therefore sees your IP address; we receive nothing from that check. Looking up another IP address is processed from our offline databases and is not logged.
7. API
Requests to the machine-readable endpoints (/json, /text) are handled identically: the response is generated from the request and nothing is stored beyond the anonymised log described above.
8. Recipients and transfers
Data is processed on servers located in the European Union. We do not sell, share or transfer your data to third parties. It may be disclosed only if required by law.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under Articles 15–21 GDPR. Since we do not store any data that identifies you, there is normally nothing to access or erase, but you may contact us at office@officeshop.bg with any question. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592, www.cpdp.bg.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
